About The Artist
Known for his stunning, large-scale snake paintings, Benjamin Goward has been sharing his paintings and drawings on Tiktok since August 2025. His recent works also include animal drawings and custom pet portrait drawings in mixed media on paper (ink, brush pens, and coloured pencil on archival paper).
Born and raised in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, Benjamin continues to work from his home town where he also obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from UBC-Okanagan in 2009. As a child and teenager, Benjamin also had a love for drawing (specifically copying photographs), but his desire to use acrylic and oil paint spurred his enrollment in post-secondary education.
To pay off student loans, Benjamin worked in the Alberta oil sands as a hard-working roughneck on a drilling rig (Kelly Single with spinning chain – iykyk) for 6 years until he retired in 2017. With a background in construction and painting during his summers in between university semesters, Benjamin successfully launched his own residential painting business and continues to serve in the Okanagan area while pursuing his passion for art.
